LOVE Wall Art Tutorial
I saw this beautiful framed wall art at frugallifeproject.com and became inspired to do my own version.

My version is of course a lot more economical. I saved a lot of money by using canvases and acrylic paint instead of paying for oversize prints and frames. I got all my supplies at Michaels because I of course had coupons! You could shop at Hobby Lobby as well for the supplies.
Materials:
5 pack of 16x20 Artist's Loft Super Value canvas (reg. $19.99 on sale for 14.99)
8 oz bottle of Craft Smart acrylic paint in gold ($2.29)
3 pk large Craft Smart white paint brushes (reg. $3.99 with 40% coupon it was $2.39)
Styrofoam bowls for paint
newspaper to cover area for painting
First I used a ruler to draw out my letters with a pencil. The canvas is very forgiving so make sure you have a good eraser.
Next I thinned out my paint with a little water for a more 'rustic' look. I wanted my canvases to look hand painted and not store bought. I did about 2-3 layers of painting.
You could use two colors instead of one, but I like the idea of using the negative space as positive space. Plus I only had to buy one bottle of paint!!!
Excellent blog you have here but I was wondering if you knew of any
ReplyDeleteforums that cover the same topics talked about here? I'd really like to be a part of online community where I can get feedback from other knowledgeable individuals that share the same
interest. If you have any recommendations, please let me know.
Bless you!
